Mark Zuckerberg just welcomed his daughter to the world with a Facebook note

In an announcement posted to Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan have announced the birth of their daughter, Max.
“Your mother and I don’t yet have the words to describe the hope you give us for the future,” the post, structured as a letter from the couple, begins. “Your new life is full of promise, and we hope you will be happy and healthy so you can explore it fully. You’ve already given us a reason to reflect on the world we hope you live in.”

The post — a Facebook note — describes the changes that the couple hopes to see for their daughter. “Like all parents, we want you to grow up in a world better than ours today,” the note reads. To do that, the note says, will require advances in health, education, technology, and equality. The couple calls for “long term investments over 25, 50 or even 100 years,” including democratizing internet access.
